​Jeannine Curley is Opening the World's founder and program director. She is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#53773) with a private practice in San Rafael and over 14 years of experience working with transitional age youth in Marin County. She has provided therapy for young adults and their families, helped at-risk youth complete community service requirements, developed and facilitated court-mandated groups, participated in county research focus groups on the topic, and partnered with other community organizations and grassroots programs to support and bring awareness to the needs of this population. 

​As the founder of OTW, Jeannine was one of fifty-one people selected worldwide to receive the Unsung Heroes of Compassion award for community service in 2014 from His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
